Extreme Air of New Hampshire is a nonprofit (501(c)(3)) organization dedicated to promoting the sport of jump rope by training amateur athletes for national competition and by educating the public about the benefits of jump rope as a fun, physically challenging and rewarding activity for individuals of all ages and abilities.
We are New Hampshire's only nationally competitive jump rope team. Jumpers compete in both speed and freestyle events and in both single rope and double dutch events.

Extreme Air of NH holds annual tryouts in September each year for those individuals interested in the sport of jump rope. Jumpers must be 8 years old by December 31st in order to join the team. We have had athletes from ages 8 through 74 compete under the Extreme Air team. Many of our jumpers find that jump rope is a wonderful means to build strength and stamina for their other sports and activities. Don’t be overwhelmed by the tryouts. Do you like to have fun and learn new things? Do you love to be active and stay in shape? Don’t be afraid to come meet us! See you at tryouts!!

Extreme Air is hosting the USAJR Regional Tournament in Kingston, NH!

March 24, 2018 8am - 8pm

Watch 135 jumpers and 10 teams from 4 states compete!

All the action starts with the Parade of Athletes at 8am!

Come for one event or stay all day. Refreshments, Raffle Baskets, 50/50 Raffle tickets, Jump ropes will be available for sale.

Jumpers from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York will compete in 18 different individual, partner, Double Dutch, and team events in the categories of speed, power, and freestyle.  The top jumpers in each event qualify for the 2018 USA Jump Rope National Competition.

Jumpers compete in age division events in both speed and freestyle events in both single rope and double dutch events. Individual events are by gender, but team events have male and female jumpers competing head-to-head.

Speed

  • Male/Female Thirty Second Speed – one jumper, one rope, thirty seconds
  • Male/Female Individual Speed - one jumper, one rope, one minute
  • Single Rope Speed Relay - 4 x 30 second sprint, jump rope's equivalent to drag racing
  • Double Dutch Speed Relay - 3 x 40 second, each jumper jumps for 40 seconds, and turns for 80
  • Double Dutch Pairs Speed - two turners for two minutes, two jumpers one minute each
  • Male/Female Three Minute Speed - a three minute endurance event that is both marathon and sprint
  • Male/Female Double Unders - one jump, two rotations of the rope, 30 seconds
  • Male/Female Triple Unders - one jump. three rotations of the rope, how many can they do?

Freestyle

  • Male/Female Single Rope Freestyle - one minute coreographed routine
  • Single Rope Pairs Freestyle - two jumpers perform a synchronized routine
  • Double Dutch Single Freestyle - classic double dutch, always a crowd-pleaser
  • Double Dutch Pairs Freestyle - four jumpers perform double dutch
  • Team Show - four minute sky's-the-limit group event featuring single rope, chinese wheel, long rope and double dutch, all set to music


2018 USA JUMP ROPE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The USA Jump Rope National Championships will be held Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin June 20 - June 23rd, 2018.   More than 500 of the top competitors from the United States are expected to compete.  Regional qualifying jumpers can compete over the four day competition in 18 different speed, power, and freestyle events. Let's see if Extreme Air of NH can put in another terrific performance at the Regional Competition in March, and send all members of Extreme Air to the National Competition!

Disney World ESPN Wide World of Sports

All members of Extreme Air have qualified for the National Competition over the past few years!  The USA Jump Rope National Championships were held at the Disney World ESPN Wide World of Sports in 2015 - 2017.  More than 600 of the top competitors from across he United States compete each year. Jumpers compete in at least four events over the four day competition in 18 different speed, power, and freestyle events.  Many members of Extreme Air make it to the podium and all return with memories to last a life time.

 

2016 & 2017 Regional Competitions hosted by Extreme Air

Exeter, NH

Extreme Air of New Hampshire was proud to host the 2016 USA Jump Rope Regional Tournament at Exeter High School, Exeter, NH. Jumpers from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York competed in 19 different individual, partner, Double Dutch, and team events in the categories of speed, power, and freestyle.  The top jumpers in each event qualify for the 2016 USA Jump Rope National Competition.  We repeated the success in 2017.  Every member of the team qualified to compete in the national competition held in Disney World. GO EXTREME AIR OF NEW HAMPSHIRE!!!  WE"RE GOING TO DISNEY!!!!

 

2015 Regional Competition

Eastham, MA

Twenty-five jumpers from Extreme Air of New Hampshire competed at the USA Jump Rope regional tournament on Saturday, March 28th in Eastham, MA.  Jumpers from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York competed in 19 different individual, partner, Double Dutch, and team events in the categories of speed, power, and freestyle.  The top jumpers in each event qualify for the 2015 USA Jump Rope National Competition.  Every member of the team qualified to compete in the national competition held at Disney World.


2014 National Competition

Long Beach, CA

Based on a terrific performance at the Regional Competition in March, all twenty-five members of Extreme Air of NH headed to the National Competition.  The Extreme Air of NH jumpers competed at USA Jump Rope National Championships in Long Beach, California this past June with more than 600 of the top competitors from the United States.  Each jumper competed in at least four events over the four day competition in 18 different speed, power, and freestyle events.

2013 AAU Junior Olympic Games
Four Extreme Air of NH jumpers competed at the AAU Junior Olympic Games this past July in Detroit, Michigan. The AAU Junior Olympic Games is a multi-sport event at which some of America’s finest amateur athletes compete for national titles. Competitors must first qualify at one of several regional tournaments held nationwide. AAU jump rope competitions emphasize versatility and reward all-around jump roping skills by adding scores from a combination of speed, power and freestyle events (Triple Crown for individual and pairs events and Pentathlon for double dutch) to determine the winners of the coveted all-around Junior Olympic medal awards. The foursome earned the team an Olympic bronze medal in the overall double dutch pentathlon competition based on outstanding performances in each of the five component events.

Extreme Air of New Hampshire hosted its Annual Jump Rope Workshop on April 11th at the Community Campus in Portsmouth, NH.  Each year we revise our workshop based on feedback we receive from coaches and jumpers to ensure it’s beneficial to all attendees.  We are expecting another great turn out this year with both coaches and jumpers leaving with new skills/information (and smiles on their faces!).  For more information go to our Workshop Page.
